Join us for our annual special events like our Spring Time Indoor Barbecue, Thanksgiving dinner, Senior Breakfast, Wellness Fair, Dinner/Dance, and other Community Events throughout the year!  Details below:


2020 Lunch & Learn Series
  • Come enjoy lunch and learn about different topics throughout the year! Each month we will have a special guest and new topic to explore. Preregistration is required so that we can plan for the lunch order. Doors open at 11:45am so that everyone can get seated with lunch by a little after 12:00pm for the class to start. Please notify us ahead of time with any dietary restrictions or severe allergies. Once you are registered and you can no longer attend, we will need to know 48 hours in advance in order to receive your credits back to your account. Lunch will vary each month, but you can expect something like sandwiches, pizza, salads, OR wraps, plus chips and fruit or veggies. $3.00/person.
  • January-My Plate: 10 Tips Nutrition Education Classes
  • Want to learn how to eat a healthy and balanced diet? Maine SNAP-ed is putting on a FREE 4-week session about MyPlate. There will be recipe demonstrations, tastings and gifts at each interaction session! We recommend that participants attend all 4 classes, but it is not required. Lunch is not provided but the class will get samples and snacks.

  • Thursday, February 20th. Foot Care at Home Clinics
  • Foot Care at Home is a unique private duty services where an registered nurse will come to your home or designated location to perform toenail clipping, filing and debridement as necessary. Discounted rates available for groups of 3 or more people per session.
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Saco Community Center
  • Wednesday, March 18th, Downeaster 101
  • The presentation will include information about NNEPRA and the role as managers of the service, the Amtrak Downeaster Service itself including ( where we go, deals and discounts, trip ideas, onboard experience etc.), as well as current/upcoming projects and NNEPRA’s partnerships in the community.
  • One lucky person who attends the presentation will win a round-trip for two on the Downeaster!

  • Wednesday, April 8th, Living Innovations & Shared Living
  • Shared living is a residential support option that is a natural home. Since 1996, Living Innovations has helped hundreds of people with disabilities to have a good life by becoming a part of an extended family. Providers are screened, trained and compensated! Come find out more about this service!
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Saco Community Center

Living with Chronic Pain Session
  • Healthy Living for ME is helping communities across Maine create a culture of health, where prevention and wellness are the norm. Our programs give you the tools you need to take control of your own health and manage in a way that works best for you and your life. Healthy Living for ME programs provide education, fitness instruction, and self-care strategies for participants; they do not replace clinical care provided by doctors, nurses and other medical professionals. Our evidence-based programs help people across the state experience improved wellness and quality of life.
  • Living Well with Chronic Pain (also known as Chronic Pain Self-Management Program)
  • This class is designed for people who have a diagnosis of chronic pain, offering strategies for dealing with their symptoms. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep, appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, pacing activity and rest, and how to evaluate new treatments.
  • Where: Saco Community Center
  • When: Wednesdays, March 11th, 18th, 25th & April 1st, 8th, 15th
  • Time: 2:00pm-4:30pm
  • Fee: FREE– but you must Preregister!
